“What if there’s another way?”
2026 seems like a particularly good year to question our assumptions about, well, almost everything.
For me right now, I’m thinking about what makes for good, purposeful work. What would make my business, Working Out Loud®, a good business?
Over the last decade, I’ve ranged from giving away my work for free to selling it exclusively to companies. Each had successes and setbacks, but neither felt quite “right.”
So I decided to try another way.
I’m making WOL much more open again, more flexible, and an even better value.
One example of this is the new WOL Coach program. Instead of designing it for scale or maximizing profit, I designed it for personal connection.
I want to get to know prospective coaches and their goals. I want to work with them on how WOL can help their business as they, in turn, help people grow and connect.
An early sign I’m on the right path? I’m enjoying work more than ever.
The calls with prospective coaches are engaging and collaborative, even fun. I’ve already reconnected with old WOL fans and met new people in new places. There’s a tangible sense of shared purpose.
They’re good people, and I’m looking forward to celebrating them and sharing their stories in the months ahead.
If there’s a part of your life that doesn’t feel quite right, maybe the start of 2026 is a good time to ask:
“What if there’s another way?”
