Celebrating our newest WOL Coach: Dagmar Böttcher
Dagmar was in her first Circle only recently, but she’s already observed, “how one WOL Circle can set many things in motion.”
She works in an IT services company that’s going through a merger and other organizational changes. It sounds exciting and potentially unsettling for the employees involved. So she is exploring how Working Out Loud can support organizational integration, onboarding, and cultural change.
“There will be many collages Working together in the new organization who have never met before. That's exactly the kind of situation where WOL can make a real difference. My hope is to use WOL as a way to help people build relationships, find each other more easily, and create connections across organizational boundaries.
WOL is a powerful way to make expertise visible, strengthen networks, and help people learn from one another while navigating change together.”
And that seems like just a starting point for her. Dagmar is working with Katharina Krentz in a growing network of German-speaking WOL Coaches. There, she’s being exposed to new ideas and possibilities. Different ways to use WOL and different ways for her to contribute to her colleagues and company while learning and growing herself.
I am excited for Dagmar to join our Coach community, and to see all she will do with WOL in the future.
Note: For each new WOL Coach, I ask three questions so you can get to know them and their reasons for becoming a Coach. See Dagmar’s responses below. You can also visit her WOL Coach profile on workingoutloud.com, or connect with her on LinkedIn or at dagmar.boettcher@phoenics.it.

1. Please share 5 facts about you so people get to know you.
Wuppertal is my home. I was born here and still live here today, even though work has taken me all across Germany for many years.
Professionally, I work at the intersection of people, organizations, and technology. This connection has fascinated me throughout my career and continues to shape my work in organizational development.
Curiosity is one of my strongest drivers. I enjoy learning, exploring new perspectives, and discovering new ideas.
The outdoors is where I recharge. I love hiking, cycling, open landscapes, and water. That's probably why New Zealand holds such a special place in my heart.
I'm usually one of the quieter people in the room, but I enjoy stepping outside my comfort zone. Whether it's climbing a bridge or tandem paragliding, some of life's best experiences begin just beyond that line. Safety first, of course. 😊
2. What positive difference do you aspire to make?
I want to encourage people to stay curious, share knowledge, and discover new perspectives. Some of the best ideas emerge when people learn from one another and connect across existing boundaries.
Working Out Loud provides a simple and powerful framework for exactly that. Seeing people build new connections, learn from each other, and move step by step toward their goals is what makes WOL so valuable to me.
3. Why WOL?
What I love about WOL is the combination of curiosity, generosity, and small steps. Through the exchange with others, people gain new perspectives, build meaningful connections, and often discover ideas they would not have found on their own.
That's what makes Working Out Loud so powerful for me.
