Like water, they find a way…
"Water finds a way" is what came to mind when I saw this.
A WOL Coach in France, Iris Quint, is leading a workshop at the Personalgipfel Südwest, a regional HR and leadership summit on October 28th. She told me she's bringing workbooks, clipboards, and personalized pens. Her aim is simply to give people a taste of what she has experienced in a WOL Circle, and maybe form a few Circles as a result. "I'm having so much fun doing this!" she said.
There is exactly *zero* chance I would ever lead a workshop at the Personalgipfel Südwest. Not only had I never heard of the event till Iris mentioned it, I live 4000 miles away and don't speak German. (I can barely pronounce "Personalgipfel," and then only very slowly! 🤣 )
But Iris found a way. She has none of the barriers I have in this case and, as a Women's Representative, is intrinsically motivated to empower people. WOL is a way for her to help participants reclaim feelings of agency and belonging in an uncertain world.
What Iris is doing is one example of why I love the new WOL Coach program. Like water, the Coaches "find a way" to reach communities and organizations I would never otherwise know about or be able to access.
The same is true for Christine, using WOL with entrepreneurs in Africa. Colleen with the American Society for Quality in Ohio. Tim with the public sector in Leipzig. Karie and Barbara with citizens of Iowa. Katharina with factory workers across Germany.
They find a way. And in doing so, they have helped me discover a renewed sense of purpose, a sense of mission I had lost somehow. I consider myself lucky to know them and be able to work with them.
