WOL at the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR): “Qualität für Menschen”

The LVR is a municipal organization with 22,000 employees, serving almost 10 million German citizens. They run schools, clinics, cultural institutions, youth welfare facilities, and more. They are Germany's largest provider of services for people with disabilities.

Their guiding principle is “Qualität für Menschen” or “Quality for People.”

This week they shared a video about their WOL program, which they have customized to fit their specific needs and culture.

The organizational goal was clear: connecting their employees across locations and job functions.

“We are an association with many different tasks in many different places, and one of the key points we wanted to achieve with it is greater networking.”

But the individuals gained more than just a network.

“You gain a lot of inspiration simply by exchanging ideas and getting an outside perspective on your own goals, which I find incredibly motivating and inspiring.“

“For me, working out loud is about raising awareness, networking, and becoming more courageous.”

Others emphasized how meaningful it was that the organization supported them in trying something new. Having the chance to grow and connect in this way—in the workplace—is remarkable.

“The fact that we have this opportunity to try something like this, that it is also desired by the LVR, that I have actually been asked to implement something like this, gives me a lot of pleasure and joy.”

LVR’s mission and scope are inspiring on their own — and seeing WOL align with their values of inclusion, service, and “Quality for People” is especially meaningful.

My heartfelt thanks to the team at LVR — Carolin Schuster, Kristina Bösel, Vera Kleinen, Alf Spröde, Jessica Holdinghausen, and Renate Kemp — for their openness, creativity, and commitment. It is a pleasure and privilege to collaborate with them.
