An update on WOL Strengths

Two pilots are underway, and the early feedback is very encouraging.

Participants describe a real shift as they begin integrating their CliftonStrengths into everyday situations.

Coaches say the combination of the Strengths assessment with the WOL method “makes so much sense” and “feels like the missing piece.”

Why WOL Strengths?

The new method started with a simple question:

"What’s next? What happens after you take the CliftonStrengths test?"

I was originally skeptical about taking the assessment. But coaching with Michael Trautmann changed my view, and I saw how powerful the insights could be.

But I still struggled with one thing: How do you move from insight to sustained behavior change? That’s the gap Michael and I set out to close with WOL Strengths.

Over eight weeks, participants don’t just reflect on their Strengths — they practice applying them. They develop both self-awareness and situational awareness. They experiment, reflect, and adjust together with the support of their Circle.

Jan Köster is the first Coach to review and use the method with a small group, and they are enthusiastic.

“We are in week 4 and I love it.” - Christof

“Two of my colleagues are participating in one of the pilot groups. They are already adapting what they have learned and incorporating it into our everyday work at the company - very inspiring and contagious 🎉” - Lisa

What’s next?

After the pilots conclude, we’ll work with organizations that have already introduced CliftonStrengths: helping them go deeper, translate insight into behavior, or scale it more cost-effectively.

Then we plan to collaborate with Strengths Coaches through the new WOL Coach program, giving them another structured way to support lasting change.

If you’ve taken the CliftonStrengths assessment yourself, what helped you turn insight into daily behavior change?

If you’re a Strengths Coach and would like to exchange ideas, leave a comment or write to me at john.stepper@workingoutloud.com. It will be a pleasure to talk with you.
