Anja Varrelmann
Hamburg, Germany
WOL Coach Since: May, 2026
Anja Varrelmann works in management consulting right in the middle of it.
She enjoys the moments when things get messy, political, or stuck and everyone can feel it. Because that’s usually where the real work starts.
She moves between consulting and coaching as one way of working: helping teams get unstuck and back to what actually matters.
Her work spans product development, transformation, and complex project environments often across countries, functions, and conflicting interests.
This is where she does her best work: when alignment breaks down, priorities blur, and stakeholders start pulling in different directions.
She steps in to connect the dots, build bridges, and cut through complexity until a real decision is on the table.
Anja has seen enough projects to know how easy it is to drift more analysis, more alignment, more discussions… and somehow less clarity. At some point, she stops entertaining that.
Instead, she names what’s already in the room but no one says and makes it usable.
She sees herself as a conductor bringing different perspectives and tensions into something usable.
Alongside her consulting work, she builds her own projects. Which means she knows what it feels like when things are unclear and still require a call.
Working Out Loud® fits naturally into how she works: sharing early, asking for input, and not waiting until things are polished. Most of what shaped her came through conversations, networks, and people who challenged her thinking.
In her WOL circles, there is space for reflection — but not for hiding in it. At some point, she will name the elephant in the room and ask:
“What are we actually going to do?”
