Celebrating our newest WOL Coach: Monika Rieck
In our first call, I felt Monika and I clicked instantly. In addition to her friendly and easygoing manner, it was her values that made our connection feel so seamless. Here’s a line from her profile.
“She firmly believes that networking, collaboration, and shared reflection and exchange open up new perspectives, deepen learning, and make change easier to navigate. In her view, this creates real value for individuals, for collaboration within organizations, and ultimately for business success.”
In her interview answers below, she expands on her beliefs and how they align with Working Out Loud.
“I particularly value an environment where people support one another, share their knowledge, and grow together. That is exactly what inspires me about Working Out Loud.
For me, real success emerges when people trust one another, feel psychologically safe, support each other, and are given opportunities to develop and grow.
Because when people grow, the team grows as well, and ultimately everyone benefits.”
Exactly! Individual growth doesn’t have to be at the expense of others, but can help others grow as well.
It was Monika’s positive experience in a Circle that motivated her to want to help others experience it too. I am excited for Monika to join our WOL Coach community, and to see all she can do with WOL.
Note: For each new WOL Coach, I ask three questions so you can get to know them and their reasons for becoming a Coach. See Monika’s answers below. You can also visit her WOL Coach profile on workingoutloud.com, or connect with her on LinkedIn or at monikarieck@gmx.de.

1. Please share 5 facts about you so people get to know you.
I love nature – it is my lifeblood. It is my source of strength, peace, and inner balance.
I enjoy working in small groups – I know what it feels like to work on your own for long periods of time, and it is often not very rewarding. That is why I love working together with a small group toward a shared goal. Exchanging ideas opens up new perspectives, creates a sense of connection, and enriches everyone involved.
I appreciate the close-knit atmosphere of small groups, such as those in Working Out Loud. Working together toward a common goal and seeing progress step by step is what makes the experience so special to me. The fact that people learn from, support, and inspire one another is the icing on the cake. Simply brilliant.
For me, communication, community, and achieving goals are closely linked to well-being. When people talk, exchange ideas, and support one another, it often has a positive impact on their health.
I love traveling – exploring Croatia in a camper van is a dream come true for me. I enjoy the sea, the hospitality of the people, the great food, and the wide variety of events. What I value most are the new connections that are so easily made at campsites.
I am passionate about health and well-being – to me, health is not only about physical fitness but also about meaningful relationships, open exchange, and the feeling of making a difference together.
I love animals – no matter how I feel, my dog is always there to greet me with pure joy, as if nothing in the world could be more important. A true blessing.
2. What positive difference do you aspire to make?
I would like topics such as organizational culture, effective and healthy leadership, and people development to be taken more seriously.
To me, these are not merely “nice-to-have” topics but essential foundations for long-term success.
I particularly value an environment where people support one another, share their knowledge, and grow together. That is exactly what inspires me about Working Out Loud.
For me, real success emerges when people trust one another, feel psychologically safe, support each other, and are given opportunities to develop and grow.
Because when people grow, the team grows as well, and ultimately everyone benefits.
3. Why WOL?
Authentic communication is extremely important to me, both in my personal life and at work. Yet I often feel that people simply do not talk to each other enough.
That is exactly why I find Working Out Loud (WOL) so inspiring. It brings together people who might never meet in their day-to-day work. It does not matter whether someone works in a leadership position or directly on the production floor. Everyone meets as equals, learns from one another, and supports each other.
